I know…Roseanne,…how yesterday, but I’ve been watching my Roseanne DVD box sets and I still feel after all these years that this was one of the best shows ever produced because it brought middle class America to the screen like no show before or since.

Sure there were other sitcoms about middle class families, but have you ever seen an episode on any of those shows where both parents are working and the electricity still gets cut off? NO. and you never will but it happened on Roseanne. Parents got agitated with life and barked at one another. They screamed and yelled and threw furniture and split up and got back together. There were toys lying on the stairs, on the table, everywhere. They didn’t go up and knock on a child’s door and politely go in for a heart to heart. No they shouted up the stairs ” Becky get your Ass down here!” Roseanne was great because people could relate to Roseanne. Roseanne was more reality TV than most of the reality TV shows.
