The Election Bitter Sweet

Published by rlrwk at 7:39 am under Uncategorized Edit This

As is usual after any major election I am very dissapointed in My state. Not only was Kentucky once again a red state despite the horror of the last 8 years but worse Kentucky failed to ditch Mitch yet again. Yes. We sent Mitch McConnell who so carefully aligned himself with Bush’s policies back to Washington to reek more havoic on our country and state. I do understand the argument that Mitch holds a high ranking position in the senate and therefore gives Ky more power than a newbie would be able to, but if that high ranking position is used to send our men and our money to a senseless war, to cut Ky’s education budget, and to vote no to coal to diesel factories that would boost Kentucky’s economy then the position is more harm to Kentucky than good.

However, at least this election there is a good consolation prize. For, no matter how displeased I am with  my state, I am ever more proud of my country.  The people of America finally decided that enough was enough and fired the republican party. While a few republican senators kept their positions, the majority of seats were turned over to the democrats as was the white house and once again I am proud to be an American.
